House rules
These are the house rules that apply once you have booked. You receive them together with the written confirmation of your dates and the exact amount, before you pay anything.
Arrival and departure
- Check-in 15:00–20:00, check-out by 10:00. Running later than that in either direction is usually fine — just tell us in advance so someone is there to meet you or the cleaner is not waiting on you.
- Someone who lives locally hands over the keys in person and is reachable for the length of your stay — this is not a lockbox-and-disappear rental.
Who can stay
- The apartment sleeps up to four people: two in the bedroom, two on the sofa bed. No more than six people on the property at any one time, including visitors.
- No parties, and the apartment is not rented out to groups of young people celebrating an event — this is a quiet residential building with neighbours.
- Pets are welcome at no extra charge. Just tell us in advance what is coming so we are not guessing at the door.
Quiet hours
Ordinary quiet-hours courtesy applies year-round, and matters more in July and August when the building is fuller: no loud music or noise late at night, and respect for the neighbours the same way you would want at home.
Cancellations and date changes
The 30% deposit confirms the booking. If you cancel later than a week before arrival the deposit is not refunded; cancel earlier and it comes back in full. Moving the dates, if the calendar allows it, is almost always easier than cancelling: write to us as early as you can and we will tell you exactly what is possible before you decide anything. These conditions are set out in the written confirmation you receive before paying.
Damage and keys
Tell us straight away if something breaks or a key is lost — accidents happen, and how it is handled (repair, replacement, any cost) is agreed case by case rather than through a fixed penalty list. Deliberate damage or a lost set of keys needing a lock change is treated differently from ordinary wear.
Waste
Scalea sorts household waste by category (organic, paper, plastic, glass, general) on a schedule set by the Comune. We will show you where the bins are and which day is which when you arrive — please sort roughly the way you would at home in the meantime.
