Melody Garden Apartments is a cosy apartment located in a quiet and well-maintained area of Scalea. It has one bedroom, a living room with a comfortable sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, a private terrace and a private garden exclusively for the guests of the apartment. The sea and beaches are approximately a ten-minute walk away.
The bedroom is separate from the living room, so nobody has to work around anyone else in the evening. The living room holds a double sofa bed and a kitchen with everything you need to cook properly, not just reheat. There is air conditioning. Doors lead from the living room onto your own terrace, and a few steps below it lies the private garden.
The building sits away from the tourist part of town.
The garden is reserved exclusively for our guests, providing privacy and a peaceful atmosphere throughout your stay. Grown trees and flowering oleander fill it, along with a stone-paved area holding a table and chairs. A step above stands your own covered terrace, with a table as well.
You can have breakfast here, dry the beach towels, or sit out in the evening — the terrace has lighting.
The cost covers the stay and a single cleaning fee. We take no security deposit and there is no service fee. The town's tourist tax is charged separately, on arrival. You can work out the exact amount for your dates below.

Scalea is a beautiful seaside town in Calabria, famous for its crystal-clear sea, beaches and charming historic centre. The apartment is located in a quiet area while still being conveniently close to the sea, shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants.
The location is ideal for those looking for a relaxing seaside holiday, as well as for guests travelling by car who want to explore the beautiful Riviera dei Cedri and the surrounding area. Nearby you can discover picturesque villages, mountains, a forest with a waterfall and stunning views of the Calabrian coast.
Scalea has its own station on the main coastal railway line, so you can get here without a car. Send us your train number and someone will meet you at the station.
Airport and a direct train
Naples receives flights from all over the world, and from there a direct train runs from Napoli Centrale to Scalea-Santa Domenica Talao — around 13 a day, taking roughly two and a half hours. Tickets cost between € 20 and € 40.
Shuttle and train
From Lamezia Terme airport a shuttle runs to Lamezia Terme Centrale station, about five minutes away. From there a direct train to Scalea takes roughly an hour, with tickets from about € 10 to € 29. The whole journey from the airport takes around two hours.

The A2 motorway, then the coastal SS18. Parking in Scalea turns into a task of its own in summer; within the residential complex it is free.

First we send you a written confirmation: our full name, the address, your dates and the exact amount. Only then do you transfer the 30% deposit, and you pay the rest on arrival. The CIN and CIR numbers at the foot of every page are issued by the Italian state and can be checked.
Scalea charges € 1.50 per person per night for the first 7 nights. Children under 10 do not pay. Two adults and two small children staying ten nights pay € 21, not € 60. We collect this tax on arrival and take it to the town hall ourselves.
Plans change. Tell us as early as you can: moving the dates is usually easier than cancelling. If you cancel later than a week before arrival, the 30% deposit is not refunded — we state this in the confirmation you receive before paying.
Check-in runs from 15:00 to 20:00 and check-out is by 10:00. If you arrive later, just let us know — someone will wait for you.

Four: two in the bedroom and two on the sofa bed. No more than six people may be in the apartment at any one time. We do not take parties or large groups.
Not for the sea, the beaches, the supermarkets or the restaurants — those are all a few minutes on foot. A car is useful if you want to explore the Riviera dei Cedri, the neighbouring villages and the mountains.
Shingle and dark volcanic sand, with small stones underfoot, so beach shoes are useful. The water is completely clear, and between the rocks you can swim from one small beach round to the next. The umbrella and mat are kept in the cupboard.
For most of the year it is quiet. Outside July and August the building stands half empty and there is no building work nearby.
